It's the annual neighborhood holiday light rivalry, only this year, Rabbi Rosenberg decides to put Hanukkah on the map and win the competition, but his neighbor, Mr. McNulty, has other plans to prove which holiday is the real festival of lights.
It's the holiday tradition – neighbors always trying to out do each other – Who has the best Christmas light display? The children are psyched for the annual tradition, each bragging to the next about the decorations their parents have purchased for the contest where they win the grand prize – a fruitcake – but more importantly, the neighborhood pride and bragging rights. But when Rabbi Rosenberg sees his neighbors putting up massively bright Christmas lighting displays that literally blind him, he becomes infuriated and declares that Hanukkah is the "REAL" festival of lights, and is now determined to win the competition. But the Beneventos, the Volkov's, and the McNulty's are not having it... there's no way they're going to let the Rabbi win their holiday contest. Each comes up with more and more decorations, which leads to the hilarious and unexpected outcome, and forces the disputing neighbors to come together.
